Trade fairs build the world! BUDMA and WINDOOR-TECH officially launched!

- It is trade fairs that build the world and the regions in which they are held. It is they that create national economies - with these words Tomasz Kobierski, President of the Management Board of the MTP Group, welcomed the guests gathered at the opening gala of the BUDMA and WINDOOR-TECH trade fairs. During the ceremony, Gold Medals were also presented to the most innovative products and Acanthus Aureus Awards for the most interestingly arranged stands. It was also a special moment for the companies celebrating their anniversaries at this year's fair.

BUDMA Construction and Architecture Fair, which started on Tuesday 11 February 2025, and WINDOOR-TECH Fair of Machines and Components for the Production of Windows, Doors, Gates and Facades, organised in a biennial cycle, will continue until 14 February. These events complement each other perfectly, creating an attractive, friendly space conducive to business talks, experience exchange and knowledge transfer.

New definition of a trade fair

- This year's fair features the latest offerings from over 600 exhibitors from 27 countries. We expect that during these four days the grounds of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie will be visited by as many as 30,000 professionals from 40 countries. I am glad that we can once again, at the beginning of the construction season, meet in Poznań to discuss the problems facing the industry and see the latest trends and technologies. - said Tomasz Kobierski, President of the Management Board of the MTP Group.

He also mentioned that a few days earlier he had had the opportunity to attend a meeting of the presidents of the largest trade fair companies in the world.- The new definition of trade fairs resonated very strongly there. Trade fairs build the world! They build the cities and regions where they are held! They build national economies! If we imagine that each of the several hundred trade fair exhibitors concludes several million contracts, we can say that the Budma trade fair has generated more than 3 billion business contracts. It is the trade fair that gives such an opportunity to follow the trends and make the best choices in one place and time. - added Tomasz Kobierski.

BUDMA trade fair was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Development and Technology. Its representative present at the trade fair's opening ceremony was Michał Jaros, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology.

- The BUDMA trade fair is a place for establishing relations and defining challenges. All of this is conducive to building the Fatherland.- said Michał Jaros.

Healthy competitiveness and security

The Minister mentioned three important issues for representatives of the construction industry that the Ministry of Development and Technology is currently working on: The Regulation on Technical Conditions, the Construction Law and the issue of competitiveness.

- The industry expects a secure business. This can only be provided by healthy competitiveness. One that allows everyone to compete on an equal footing. We will implement it this year to protect Polish companies. Without modern infrastructure, there will be no development of the country and this will not happen without healthy competitiveness. - argued the Minister.

An important theme that resonated on the first day of BUDMA was the issue of safety. This was discussed, among others, by Marcin Stanecki, Chief Labour Inspector. - The trade fair is a place for creating safe workplaces,’ he argued. He added that the Chief Labour Inspectorate had just completed a campaign entitled STOP TO WORK, raising awareness of safe and hygienic working conditions on construction sites, among other things. This topic was also raised by Paweł Urbańczyk, President of the Office of Technical Inspection.

- Safety is a priority issue in the construction industry. We, as the Authority, by our actions aim to eliminate dangerous incidents in this sector,’ he argued. In turn, Agnieszka Szczygielska, Director of the Central Institute for Labour Protection - National Research Institute, emphasised the importance of the trade fair as a place where science meets business and innovation meets experience.

As emphasised during the Fair's opening ceremony, BUDMA has already been one of the most important trade events on the map of Europe for more than 30 years, being a place for market premieres, presentations and multi-faceted discussions about the future of construction every year.

This year's exhibition is rich in special show spaces and an extremely interesting conference programme. Over four days, the most important challenges for the construction industry will be addressed - not only the current ones, but also those far into the future.

The official part, rich in speeches by distinguished guests, ended with a ribbon-cutting ceremony - a symbol of the opening of BUDMA and WINDOOR-TECH.

BUDMA and WINDOOR-TECH Gold Medals

Professor Józef Jasiczak, chairman of the MTP Gold Medal Award jury, emphasised that the technical, usability and quality level of the exhibits in 2025 was - as in recent years - extremely high and even. A total of 28 Gold Medals were awarded: nineteen to products submitted by BUDMA exhibitors and nine to solutions from WINDOOR-TECH exhibitors. During the opening ceremony, representatives of the awarded companies received statuettes and diplomas.
