PREFTEC Modern Prefabrication Center - discover the future of construction

Share

Prefabrication, as a key element of modern construction, will be in the spotlight at the upcoming BUDMA 2025 trade fair in Poznań. PREFTEC - Center for Modern Prefabrication is a unique space dedicated to innovative wood, steel and concrete prefabrication technologies. From February 11-14, 2025, the halls of the Poznań International Fair will bring together exhibitors who will present modern product and technological solutions.

The prefabrication market in construction is experiencing rapid growth, being one of the key segments in modern construction engineering. The technology is becoming increasingly popular, mainly due to rising labor costs, pressure to reduce construction time, environmental requirements and energy efficiency.

Rising values

In 2023, the value of the heavy precast concrete market in Poland was about PLN 3.8 billion - with an upward trend for subsequent years. The market is estimated to reach PLN 5 billion by 2025. The largest segments include structural precast products, i.e. ceilings, beams, walls or stairs, which dominate in cubic construction.

Engineering solutions, including road and tramway slabs or bridge beams, are also growing in importance.
Although prefabrication is developing dynamically in Poland, the share of this technology in the construction industry is still smaller than, for example, in Western European countries or Scandinavia. In Germany and Sweden, prefabrication has long been a standard in housing and infrastructure construction, due to its advanced technology, precision workmanship and high quality standards.

Meanwhile, the advantages of prefabrication are many. These include reduced construction time - the elements are produced under controlled factory conditions, which minimizes the impact of weather conditions at the construction site. It also means lower costs - prefabrication is more economical thanks to fewer workers and faster construction. Prefabrication production in factories also allows for accurate quality control and reduced construction waste, which supports sustainable development.

The modular construction segment includes both prefabricated walls (2D) and whole modules (3D),. It has been experiencing significant growth in popularity in Poland in recent years. Modular technologies are used in single-family housing, multifamily housing, as well as institutional and commercial projects. In 2022, the value of prefabricated buildings in Poland amounted to nearly PLN 10 billion, 47% of which were modular buildings.

The main challenges facing this construction sector include the high cost of raw materials (cement, steel) and resistance to the perception of prefabrication as a low-quality technology - however, these stereotypes are being increasingly successfully dispelled by manufacturers who are investing in innovative solutions and promoting the advantages of modern prefabrication.

Prefabrication in the construction industry is gaining increasing importance both in Poland and around the world. Its development is driven by innovative technologies that make construction processes more efficient and environmentally friendly. Looking ahead to the next few years, prefabrication is poised to play a key role in the transformation of the construction sector towards more sustainable development, allowing significant reductions in construction time, waste reduction and optimization of material consumption. It's an ideal solution to today's construction industry challenges, such as the shortage of skilled labor and the rising cost of raw materials.

Prefabrication is not only a technology, but also a philosophy of sustainability. It allows buildings to be energy efficient, aesthetically pleasing and durable, meeting the requirements of modern environmental standards. Experts stress that prefabrication reduces the carbon footprint, making it an excellent choice for modern developments.

PREFTEC is worth a visit

PREFTEC - the largest prefabrication exhibition in Poland during BUDMA February 2025 in Poznań - will be the place to showcase the latest prefabricated materials, technologies and finished products that accelerate construction processes. Thanks to them, construction is becoming more efficient, economical and ecological.

PREFTEC will feature ready-made building modules and even a “village of prefabricated houses.” This is an excellent opportunity to understand how prefabricated elements can be successfully integrated into sustainable architecture designs of the future.

PREFTEC is also a place to meet experts and innovators from Poland and abroad, who will present future-oriented technological solutions and share their experience on their application in cubic and engineering construction.

We invite you to visit PREFTEC at BUDMA 2025 - a place where modernity meets tradition and innovation determines the future of construction.
