Conference: 18th Urban Planner's Day – February 5, 2026
Lost? Searching for meaning in new planning
The spatial planning reform has entered a decisive phase. The first general plans are being submitted for consultation and adoption, the first supervisory decisions are being made, and urban planners are raising more and more questions and doubts. Does the new system really bring order to planning in Poland? How can we find meaning and direction in the maze of new responsibilities, tools, and interpretations? Have we not lost sight of the essence of planning somewhere in all this – concern for spatial order and the quality of life of residents?
During the next Urban Planner's Day, we will try to find answers to these questions together. Together with planning and administration practitioners, as well as representatives of the scientific community, we will consider the further directions of legislative work, subsequent experiences related to general plans, and the most current challenges for planning: the location of renewable energy sources and defensive structures, the use of artificial intelligence, and a new approach to eco-physiography.
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the organizers invite you to the 18th Urban Planner's Day, traditionally held during the BUDMA trade fair, at the PCC pavilion at MTP: the Polish Association of Urban Planners – Poznań Branch, the MTP Group, and the Municipal Urban Planning Studio in Poznań. As every year, without unnecessary distance, in a friendly atmosphere and with open minds, we will search together for meaning in new planning.
