BUDMA - the key to growth in a changing construction world

Share

Despite a significant increase in value, the volume of the construction market in Poland has been stagnant for years. For the coming years, however, the value of the market is forecast to increase relative to GDP. This puts the industry in a dilemma as to whether it is better to quietly wait out the transition period or, on the contrary, use it as a run-up for better times. Wanting to be one step ahead of the competition, it is worth betting right now on important events and trade fairs with an international reputation, such as BUDMA.

The past year has not been kind to the industry. However, according to the latest forecasts, in 2025-2026 the rate of market value growth will clearly accelerate, and the level of inflation in the construction industry will decrease significantly. A total of 130 billion euros in EU grants and loans, the energy transition, the revival of the military construction industry or, finally, the perceived need for more housing are just some of the factors having a real impact on the projected development of the construction market in Poland.

At the same time, the uncertain geopolitical situation, high prices for raw materials, materials and workmanship, interest rates at levels that do not promise to decrease, and, above all, the shortage of manpower have an adverse effect on the market. What situation, then, do representatives of the construction industry face?

The industry before the transformation

The rebound in construction does not mean a return to the situation of a few years ago. Manufacturers and service providers in the construction industry face new requirements and expectations, imposed by the market, but also by EU regulations. In the face of the energy transition, costly-to-implement concepts related to ESG principles, sustainability reporting, CO2 reduction and waste recycling are coming to the forefront between 2025 and 2030.

The construction industry must also be ready to meet the need for rapid construction of affordable housing. This is not made any easier by the rising cost of steel, cement or wood, especially with global supply chain disruption and relentless increases in energy costs. And the shortage of skilled labor is not helping. Filling the skills gap, including an emphasis on education, training and rejuvenation of the workforce, is a downright pressing challenge for the entire sector. Rapid changes are also needed in the approach to construction project management.

Digital transformation, the implementation of technologies such as BIM and artificial intelligence on a massive scale, is becoming crucial to increase efficiency. For this, resources are needed, but also designers trained in this direction.

Trade fairs help you adapt to new challenges

Standing on the eve of major industry changes, it's worth being prepared for them and standing firmly in the market while others are just beginning to crawl into the subject. Participation in the fair is a favorable opportunity to establish fresh business relationships, based on new challenges.

BUDMA is an event that has been organized for more than 30 years. They have accompanied the industry during its ups and downs. The organizers strive to create a space for multifaceted cooperation ahead of market expectations. Today, a strong emphasis on sustainable construction is evident.

Hot topics are included in the broad term “Green Future of Construction” RES solutions, green materials and recycling. The presence in one place of many players in this field allows for convenient business talks on existing and upcoming needs.

New contacts, the opportunity to participate in events, lectures and conferences is a kind of pill of knowledge and experience, which in other conditions would have to be spread over a long period of time. Prefabrication manufacturers and representatives of modular construction are also becoming strong players. The growing popularity of these technologies and their presence at the fair creates a wide platform for effective discussions.

BUDMA trade fair is also an excellent opportunity to get younger generations interested in construction - and this has a mutual benefit. By participating in the hands-on competitions that have been organized for years, and by visiting the stands, young students of the industry have a chance to meet potential employers, get involved in new technologies and market challenges, and learn about the directions in which it is best to educate themselves. Manufacturers and distributors present at the fair have the opportunity to talk and observe, and in the future, perhaps easily find qualified employees.

It is worth noting that the key word is the phrase “present at the fair.” The industry's challenges will not solve themselves. The construction industry needs increased efficiency, improved occupational safety, so-called green initiatives. It needs international contacts and conversations.

In 2025 BUDMA will be complemented by the Trade Fair of Machines, Tools and Components for the Production of Windows, Doors, Gates, Facades WinDoor-Tech, which will include premiere demonstrations of technologically advanced solutions to optimize production in window joinery.

BUDMA and WinDoor-Tech are organized at the same time and place for a reason. These are events that intermingle, creating an opportunity to simultaneously view machines or technologies and the finished product that is created thanks to them.

So... Let's meet in Poznań at BUDMA and WinDoor-Tech!
